IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE GREATEST DRIVERS OF TODAY AND YESTERYEAR
For the third year running motor sport fans will be able to drive in complete safety on closed roads and follow in the footsteps of the drivers of today and yesteryear in the World Rally Championship.
This regularity event is reserved for owners of GTs, Supercars and sports cars who are motor racing fans gathered together to share the same pleasures. The route is punctuated with varied stages that will enable crews to rediscover Corsica, its landscapes, its traditions and its culture as well as providing them with exclusive opportunities to have a chat and share their passion.
RARE MOMENTS & A GIRLS ADVENTURE
Every day the crews will set off in the wake of the drivers in the World Rally Championship to cover a regularity zone on closed roads reserved for them in this regularity event: an exclusive concept for a feminine and motoring adventure combining conviviality and discovery of Corsica.
The days will unfold to the rhythm of visits to the service park, a VIP follow-up of the performance of the top-level drivers, gourmet breaks and relaxation. The participants in the Tour de Corse – Ladies will have the honour of using the official WRC start ramp plus an exclusive finishing podium.
AN EXCLUSIVE PROGRAMME
Throughout the weekend an organisation and welcome team is at your disposal and its job is to meet your needs. Hotels are chosen on a 4 or 5 star basis depending on local availability. Midday meals are eaten along the way and give priority to gastronomy and local products.
AN ALL-IN PACKAGE
All services are included in the entry fee: sea transport of the crew and the car in a double cabin, 3 nights in a double room with breakfast, meals or buffets from Wednesday to Sunday evening, gourmet halts and tasting sessions. The following are not included: personal expenses, fuel and all the products and services required for the running of the car (see general conditions).
PRESTIGIOUS AMBASSADOR: BERNARD DERNICHE
Up till 1968 Bernard Darniche was a pretty good bicycle racer. He then gradually gave up the handlebars of his bicycle for the wheel of a motor car. First of all the man from Cénon (near Bordeaux) shone in the NSU Challenge and then in the famous Coupe Gordini. Thanks to his stunning performances he was quickly promoted to the French, European and World Rally Championships in which the very talented Darniche drove for Alpine-Renault and Lancia as well as Fiat and Audi. Three national titles plus two on the European scene and third place in the World Championship make him one of the most emblematic French rally drivers. “I’m very happy to be continuing the adventure of the Tour de Corse – 10.000 Virages this year. In 2015, I didn’t hesitate for a second when Nicolas Deschaux asked me to become involved in this project created by the Federation. It gives me an opportunity to share my passion for motor sport, for Corsica and for this legendary event, the Tour de Corse.“
The following cars are accepted: GTs, Supercars and sports cars registered after 1st January 1992. All cars entered must comply with the French Highway Code and be equipped with a fire extinguisher (see general conditions). The FFSA reserves itself the right to accept or refuse the entry of cars in keeping with the standards of the event.
RULES ABOUT THE LIAISONS
The transitions on roads closed to traffic (WRC special stages) will be in accordance with the Rally regulations. The 2 crew members must wear an approved helmet. During the connections between two stages, competitors are subject to the traffic regulations.
STANDINGS & AWARDS
The overall classification, from which category classifications will be established, will be based on the respect of the route and the passage controls as well as on the results of regularity tests on closed roads. Other awards will be created on certain themes such as the presentation of the cars, qualities of observation, etc.
The entry fee includes:
